The Process

- You will be assigned to a home team and an expert team.
Each home team will consist of three teachers. Each teacher on the home team will
be responsible for exploring classroom websites and identifying features of
those websites that support one of the following characteristics of an effective eMINTS classroom.
- Teacher-facilitated learning
- Student-centered learning
- Inquiry-based learning
- The exploration of classroom websites will be conducted as a member of an expert
team. All teachers researching the same characteristic will work together
on the expert team. Select the characteristic from the list below to explore
resources to help your expert team complete their task.
- When the exploration process is complete, each teacher
will return to their home team to share what they have learned as a result of
the exploration of classroom websites. If
website features were not found supporting some of the characteristics,
brainstorm with your home team ways in which a classroom website could support
these characteristics.
- Each home team will generate a "Top Ten" list of
website features that support student learning. The list will be shared
with all session participants.
- Each teacher will develop a storyboard incorporating
the knowledge and ideas gained as a result this WebQuest. Use the
Planning a Website Module for additional assistance and other considerations
such as layout and navigation. The completed storyboard will guide the
development of your classroom website during the full-day Website Creation
session.
Note: A simple storyboard template can be
generated by creating a blank 3-slide PowerPoint presentation. Print the
presentation using the "handout" option (3 slides per page) on the print
dialogue box. |
