Creating
links to a specific place on the same web page:
1. Position the cursor at the place on the web page that
you are linking to.
2. From the tool bar, click "Insert" then
"Bookmark"
3. In the screen that pops up:
o
In the
"Bookmark Name" textbox, enter a name, without spaces, that describes
the position on the page. Keep it simple. For example, if it is at the
beginning of the section, make the bookmark name the same as the section name.
o
Choose "Sort by
Name" and check the box in front of "Hidden Bookmark."
o
Click
"Add"
o
Position the cursor
in the desired location of the hyperlink.
o
From the tool bar,
click "Insert," then "Hyperlink."
4. In the screen that opens:
o
Under "Link
to," select "Place in this Document"
o
In the "Text to
Display:" textbox, type the word or words that describe the link. These
are the words that will appear as the hyperlink on the web page. Be brief, but
specific.
o
Click on the + sign
in front of the word "Bookmark" in the list that appears.
o
This will open the
list of all the Bookmarks that have been inserted in the page. Choose the
correct bookmark.
o
Click OK
